A Letter From Our CEO

August 5, 2021

Dear Partner:

We’ve all seen the news headlines of the spike in COVID-19 cases across the Country.

Clark County, our local government entity overseeing the response to the virus for Las Vegas, has taken the two most important steps it can to change the trajectory for what has been coined by the CDC as the “pandemic of the unvaccinated”:

  • Encouraging vaccines

While our community focuses on reducing the spread of the virus, Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak said today “vaccines are the way out of this pandemic.  I am not here to announce capacity limits or closures. In fact, everything we are currently doing is aimed at preventing such a scenario.”

Clark County Commission Chairwoman Marilyn Kirkpatrick wants you to know “Las Vegas is open for business.”

Chairwoman Kirkpatrick further shared “together with our health leaders and resort and tourism partners, we’re doing everything we can to safely welcome trade shows and meetings to our destination. We remain optimistic that getting more people vaccinated in our community in conjunction with our current mask mandate will allow us to keep our workforce, community and visitors safe and our tourism economy moving forward as we continue with efforts to put the pandemic behind us.”

Additional steps are being taken in Nevada including:

  • The majority of casino-resorts and state and local government entities have updated employee policies now requiring proof of vaccination or alternatively weekly testing among their workforce;
  • Free vaccine pop up clinics are available throughout the state to ensure everyone has easy access to vaccines.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to our COO Brian Yost at byost@lvcva.com or our Vice President of Sales John Schreiber at jschreiber@lvcva.com.  Thank you for your ongoing partnership.

Sincerely,

Steve Hill
