Tourism is the No. 1 economic driver for Southern Nevada. It pays for ours roads, parks, school construction and our teachers’ salaries. More than 41 percent of Southern Nevadans are employed as a direct result of tourism.
We’re seeing growing competition from other destinations that are investing millions into their respective facilities to attract large shows that would otherwise be in Las Vegas.
The current Las Vegas Convention Center is at capacity. The loss of just one mid-size show (50,000 delegates) would mean a loss of nearly $70 million in local economic impact. Expansion and renovation are necessary to remain the No. 1 trade show destination in North America.
