MGM Resorts International & AEG to Develop New $350 Million Las Vegas Arena

AEG and MGM Resorts International have completed and executed transactional agreements formalizing the details of the previously announced joint venture to build a new arena project, which will be the centerpiece of a complete revitalization of the area between New York-New York and Monte Carlo resorts, extending from Las Vegas Blvd. to Frank Sinatra Drive.  They have selected Populous, designers of many of the world's most memorable sports, concert and entertainment venues as the architect of record and designer for the new approximately 20,000-seat indoor arena. The arena is expected to break ground in summer 2014, with the grand opening projected for spring 2016.  The project is anticipated to cost approximately $350 million and be financed with equity contributions from each of the partners as well as privately funded third-party financing. Bally's Las Vegas South Tower to Become All-New Jubilee Tower

Bally's Las Vegas has announced plans to renovate and rename its existing south tower to the all-new Jubilee Tower, named after the resort's iconic show, Jubilee!, which celebrates its 32nd anniversary this summer, making it the longest-running show in Las Vegas. Renovations will include 756 remodeled hotel rooms and suites, which go on sale today for first guest arrivals late summer 2013. Alaska Airlines Announces new Service to Las Vegas

Alaska Airlines will begin flying nonstop between Anchorage and Las Vegas, starting Dec. 19. Flights will operate three times a week. Anchorage-Las Vegas service will be offered year-round, offering the perfect getaway. Tony Award-Winning Musical "Kinky Boots" to Kick Off National Tour at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts

Producers Daryl Roth and Hal Luftig have announced that Kinky Boots, the six-time Tony Award-winning musical that brings together four-time Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein (Book) and GRAMMY Award-winning rock icon Cyndi Lauper (Tony Award-winner for Best Score for Kinky Boots), will open its national tour in Sept. 2014 at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts in Las Vegas. Dinner in the Sky Breaks Ground in Las Vegas

Dinner in the Sky Las Vegas has officially begun construction at an 8.8 acre site minutes away from the Las Vegas Strip. The one-of-a-kind upscale dining attraction serving meals 180 feet in the air is scheduled to open later this summer. Dinner in the Sky will suspend diners on two open-air tables, each weighing in at nearly seven tons with seating for up to 22 guests, offering 360-degree views of the Las Vegas Strip and surrounding mountains. 2013 NBA Summer League to Return to Las Vegas

The NBA Summer League 2013 in Las Vegas will feature 22 teams competing in a 61-game schedule from July 12-22 at the Thomas & Mack Center and COX Pavilion on the campus of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. This summer's event will feature the debut of a tournament-style schedule that will crown the first-ever NBA Summer League Champion on July 22. Teams will compete in three preliminary round games from July 12-16 before being seeded in a tournament.
