Shania Twain Begins Residency The Colosseum at Caesars Palace

Shania Twain, one of the world's best-selling female artists of all time, will debut her brand new show, Shania: Still the One on Dec. 1, kicking off her two-year residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. Zarkana by Cirque du Soleil Opens at ARIA

Cirque du Soleil proudly celebrated the Las Vegas premiere of its newest resident show Zarkana at ARIA Resort & Casino at CityCenter. Tim McGraw & Faith Hill Soul2Soul Opens at The Venetian

The Venetian Las Vegas will welcome Tim McGraw and Faith Hill "Soul2Soul" for a limited engagement opening on Dec. 7 and covering 10 weekends through April 2013. Fremont Street Experience Announced the World's First Powered-Launch Zipline Attraction Planned for Downtown Las Vegas

Fremont Street Experience has announced the creation of "SlotZilla" - the world's first powered-launch zipline attraction - to be built in Downtown Las Vegas. Construction on SlotZilla is expected to begin immediately after New Year's with the attraction anticipated to open during the first half of 2013.  SlotZilla will be a two-level thrill ride. Riders on the upper four ziplines will take off about 100 feet above ground. Riders, lying flat in a harness, will be launched to a speed that will zoom them 1,700 feet under the Fremont Street Experience canopy.  Riders on the lower four ziplines will take off about 70 feet above ground and zip 800 feet to a mid-point landing platform. Construction Commences on Downtown Grand Hotel & Casino

Executives of Fifth Street Gaming, a Nevada-based casino management company overseeing the redevelopment of Downtown Grand Hotel & Casino, have begun construction on the 650-room downtown hotel. Fremont Street Experience to Rock in the New Year with Downtown Countdown New Year's Eve Celebration

Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens to Light Up the Holiday Season

Bellagio's Conservatory & Botanical Gardens has unveiled its winter display with a 45-foot Shasta Fir decorated with more than 2,500 ornaments. Rich in nostalgia and tradition, the Conservatory is transformed into a magical winter wonderland, featuring oversized toy soldiers, a floral holiday card and an ensemble of faux baby penguins frolicking around an ice pond. A playful family trio of topiary polar bears will be adorned with "fur" coats made of more than 35,000 hand-applied white carnations as the baby bear floats on a frozen pond. Las Vegas Railway Express Signs Right of Way Access Agreement with Union Pacific Railroad

Las Vegas Railway Express, Inc. (LVRE) and Union Pacific Railroad have signed a conditional agreement to provide passenger service on Union Pacific-owned right of way between Las Vegas and Daggett, Calif. LVRE plans to operate an expedited luxury train service between the Los Angeles basin and Las Vegas through the use of Union Pacific track. "Vegas Style" Exhibit Opens at the Nevada State Museum

UNLV  students curated "Vegas Style," an exhibit on Las Vegas fashion in the 1960s and 1970s for the Nevada State Museum. The collection includes celebrity clothing, beaded gowns, fringed Helldorado Day apparel, and Las Vegas showgirl outfits. The exhibit runs from Nov. 17, 2012 until June 2013. The exhibit also features 60 Las Vegas News Bureau photos of Las Vegas celebrities performing in their entertainer's outfits, including Penn & Teller, Shecky Greene and members of The Rat Pack - Sammy Davis Jr. and Frank Sinatra. A "Snapshot" of Downtown Las Vegas' Historical Evolution Revealed in Special Exhibition at The Mob Museum

From the archives of the Las Vegas News Bureau comes a rare look at Downtown Las Vegas as it appeared in the 1950s. Photographs of hotels, local businesses and storefronts comprise this unique collection now on display at The Mob Museum entitled "Fabulous Downtown." Access is included in the normal ticket price to The Mob Museum. The photos, a majority of which show buildings still standing and in existence, will guide guests through the various economic shifts and population increases Las Vegas has experienced through the years.  The Mob Museum, seen from its days as a federal courthouse and U.S. Post Office, is also part of the exhibition.
