Flamingo Las Vegas Remodeling 2,300 Rooms
Flamingo Las Vegas has announced plans to refurbish 2,307 hotel rooms transforming the resort's standard rooms into stylish and contemporary accommodations. The all-new FAB rooms are on-sale now for guest arrivals beginning January 2, 2012. Five hundred rooms will be available in the first phase with plans to complete approximately 100
rooms every 11 days. Completion of the FAB rooms is planned for late 2012 and will conclude the final phase of standard room upgrades, adding to the award-winning Flamingo GO Room build-out, which began in 2006 with 1,032 rooms and suites. Studio 54 to Close Doors in Anticipation of New MGM Grand Nightlife Experience
MGM Grand Hotel & Casino's iconic nightclub Studio 54 will close its doors to the public Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012 after a remarkable 14 years on the Las Vegas Strip. The legendary club will host one final unforgettable bash Saturday, Jan. 7 to toast Vegas' longest-running and most successful nightlife venue. Las Vegas to Host NASCAR 2011 Champion's Week

Las Vegas to Host Zappos.com Rock 'n' Roll Marathon & Half Marathon
Once again, both sides of the world-famous Las Vegas Strip will be closed to vehicular traffic and reserved for participants of the Rock 'n' Roll Marathon on Sunday, Dec. 4. The half marathon (13.1 miles) course will be entirely on the Strip with the full marathon (26.2 miles) right beside it for 12.6 miles. Live music, chanting cheerleaders and Vegas-inspired fanfare including running Elvi and on-course weddings will be part of the event. The race has been moved to an evening start time, allowing participants to race down the iconic Las Vegas Strip in all of its neon glory.
