Operations

The Operations Division has the overall responsibility for the operation, maintenance and security of the Las Vegas Convention Center and Cashman Center. Additional activities included are Information Technology, Customer Experience and Project Management.

There are several departments within the division. Click on the following links for a description of each.

Facilities
Facilities has direct responsibility for the operation and maintenance of the Las Vegas Convention and Cashman Center. The function oversees the Client Services, Engineering and Building Operations. The Las Vegas Convention Center, located adjacent to the Las Vegas Strip, encompasses approximately 3.2 million square feet with exhibit space of 2 million square feet and meeting space of nearly 250,000 square feet. Cashman Center is located on 51 acres near downtown Las Vegas. It provides a 10,000-seat outdoor sports stadium, which is home to a triple A baseball franchise. The center also contains a 1,922-seat-state-of-the-art-theater, twelve meeting rooms and 98,100 square feet of exhibit hall space for medium-sized conventions with 3,000 to 6,000 delegates.

Customer Experience
The Customer Experience Department is responsible for the LVCVA's efforts to address the specific needs of our convention and meeting attendee and exhibitor customer base. Customer Experience is responsible for developing programs that deliver the LVCVA's Brand Promise for both the Las Vegas Convention Center and Cashman Center. Key functions include being a liaison among various departments in Operations and Marketing to establish campus wide programs and initiatives that will improve our Customers' Experience. Additionally, the department reviews services delivered by our facility partners ARAMARK, Smart City, and FedEx Kinko's as well as other key stake holders which include General Service Contractors, Exhibitor Approved Contractors, Taxi & Transportation companies, etc.

Engineering
Engineering includes Engineering Systems and Engineering Maintenance. Engineering Systems includes Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, Electrical, Plumbing, Communications, and Facility Support. Engineering Systems operates and maintains all engineering systems within the Las Vegas Convention Center. Engineering Maintenance, including Fleet and Grounds, serviced all utility systems and LVCVA vehicles and maintained buildings and grounds at the Las Vegas Convention Center and the outlying Visitor Information Centers.

Information Technology
The Information Technology Department (ITD) functions as the LVCVA's technology support element. ITD has committed to advancing the LVCVA's goals and objectives in a fiscally responsible manner through continuous innovation, leadership and guidance while improving service quality and applying necessary technical skills. Our mission will be accomplished through the focused and dedicated efforts of the administration, support services, systems maintenance and software development teams. Responsibilities include: maintaining all LVCVA hardware, software, networks and systems; developing new support tools, automation systems, databases and applications; establishing automation policies and procedures, Help Desk operations and identifying cost-effective technology applications.

Project Development
The Project Development Department is responsible for overseeing all construction projects from conceptual design through permitting, construction, commissioning and final acceptance. This department will coordinate the work of architects, engineers and construction firms for projects ranging from minor renovations and demolition projects to implementing the Master Plan Enhancement Program. The Project Development Department is dedicated to making the Las Vegas Convention Center the best convention center in the world.

Security
The Security Department is responsible for the protection of life and property at both the Las Vegas Convention Center and Cashman Center. The department is broken down into three sections; Traffic, Safety and Security. In addition to these three sections, the department has an administrative support staff, a Dispatch Control Center, and medical staff.

Purchasing & Contracts

The LVCVA Purchasing Department is responsible for identifying suppliers and contractors for our business, and to notify them of formal bids.
